Dùsgadh: Essence of Life by author Margaret A. Daly Gets Praise!"Margaret Daly was brought up in the hills of West Sparta, New York. She experienced tragedy in her young life when a fire destroyed her home. Everything was lost from a young age. So this lady really does know what hardship is and what the wrong decisions in life can do to you, as well as how this can deeply affect an adult life too. Daly freely admits to making wrong decisions in life from an early age. She states that she had a great understanding of the unfairness of life and how it can disappoint; she is the real deal when it comes to real-life experiences of tragic events. However, at the age of forty-three she managed to have her first book published. With the release of Dusgadh: Essence Of Life it seems she has taken a positive step in being on the right road in life as this book is part of a promising trilogy concerning young Ember and her adventures. Daly has the loving support of four children and a loving husband, which say says makes for a conducive atmosphere to pen books such as this novel. In the book review(you can find Nick Bishop's review on this page as well)I drew comparisons between Daly's book and J K Rowling's books about the young wizard Harry Potter, and how Daly's book will appeal to the same age group older children and teenagers that like the Potter books. I also draw comparison with Rowling and Daly in the fact that both come from relatively obscure backgrounds and experienced how hard life can be, something Rowling used to create the Potter books and subsequently enjoyed enormous success with them, both in book and film form. Could the same happen with Daly? Well I really think it could be a possibility but that's for the future. Right now, Margaret Daly is, it seems, where she wants to be with the book, on the pinnacle of success and with a loving family behind her." See her on the Thursday Interview Blog! Daly, who has experienced tragedy in her own life, sets the scene for Ember, a girl in middle school who experiences the disturbance of having her family taken from her. She is left with her sister and just seems to amble along in life until she attends a party as a teenager. It is a party that will change her life forever. After a séanceis held in a park, catapulting Ember into a world of paranormal shocks, she realises that she has a natural gift that brings connections to a previous life. The book is action packed and will keep the reader engrossed to the end, definitely wanting more from the next series of books. As you read through this book you realise that it will be the first of many to come. Many characters are mentioned in it briefly that will be fleshed out in sequel books in relation to Ember’s life. The book is suitable for older children and teenagers, and dare I say I can see something of the Harry Potter series about this book and its focus on one individual who although from a dysfunctional background has a natural gift for magic and the paranormal. So I would without a doubt recommend this book if you’re a fan of the mysterious and spooky mixed with adventure.~ Nick Bishop Recent Amazon Reader Review- A Great Read!, November 2, 2016 By Amazon21889 Verified Purchase This review is from: Dùsgadh: Essence of Life (Kindle Edition) Dusgadh is the amazingly unforgetable story of Ember Malloch, a young woman recovering from unspeakable tragedy and her journey toward self-actualization. The paranomal elements strengthen the book and encourage the reader the keep the pages turning . The writing is warm, strong and descriptive and the pathos, truth and fantasy are real. The characters are well developed and I look forward to learning more about them in future books. An excellent thought-provoking read... can't wait for the sequels. Highly recommended. Book Blurb Ember Malloch has no idea her life is about to get turned upside down. Besides the fact that she sees the dead on occasion, she lives an ordinary mundane life.
